The original Stetson "Cowboy" hat. John Stetson made the first one
over a campfire using a pot to form the crown. Most of the cowboys
of Tombstone wore variations of the "Boss of the Plains" . Very
authentic. Also available in 4X beaver at $149.98 (These 4X bodies
deserve a 6X rating.)
Variations of the B.O.P. were worn in the movie Tombstone by Billy
Clanton, Mc Laurys and Texas Jack. Look for this style in original
Remington and Russel pictures. The B.O.P. was very common in the
Old West. The larger crown Stetsons arrived in the 1880's, but the
B.O.P. remained popular 'til after 1900.
