Jeb Stuart was nicknamed "Beauty" by fellow officers for his carefully
groomed, long red beard and his flamboyant appearance. Regardless of
how he looked, he was a brilliant and bold cavalry commander. One of his
few errors was at Gettysburg when he strayed too far and stayed too long.
Jeb was a Major General but he wore the black and gold cord rather than
the general officer's all gold cord. When you're a general, you make the
rules.
