Roughrider Officer- a variation on 1890's Cavalry Hat (first U.S.
volunteers)

This is typical of the way the Roughriders wore their hats. The sabers and
the number were worn on the left side of the crown. As far as the shape
of the hat, this was one of many typical variations. This photo is of an
officer's hat, having the bound edge brim and the officer hat cord. The
Roughriders usually did not wear the hat cords but it looks good doesn't
it? You should look at the various brims and crowns and choose your
combination, or if you have an idea for something different, just call.
